l and h go to the temple. l points out many dogwood motifs to h. h manages to break sound barriers
wednesday heather met me at my work at the end of the day. it was the day i made blueberry clafoutis at work. don't know what clafoutis is? too bad bub. look it up, as i used to say to the twins.
heather and i went to richmond centre to buy a gift for niks and her bouncingbabyboy, but first i took back approximately 5 items of clothing that i purchased from old navy and then had buyer's remorse the very next day. (hold the phone. somebody is bbq-ing. who bbqs at 9:06 in the morning??). i got a nice chunk o change back too. as we walked away h says "hey we forgot to look at the baby clothes!" for some reason i was loath to turn around and go back. so we went on our way. after doing a full circle of the mall and only finding receiving blankets we were back at old navy and right away found two cute lion onesies. please remember that i very much heart the onesie.
back at home we got ready to go to the temple and drove out to langley. we ate at wendy's because h has not eaten at wendy's in her whole long 2.5 years of exile in ontario, ie. the heartland, aka the centre of things. h's first suggestion is quite often wendy's because of this 2.5 year wendy's fast. dave thomas would be pleased. rest in peace dave.
it was h's first time to our temple. one of the things i love about having our own temple is that i have never once gone and not seen someone that i knew. does that sentence even make sence?? this time it was the burgesses whom heather knows as well. in the chapel heather waved wildly to them and they reservedly but pleased, waved back.
now we get to the crux of the story. we were in a session. it was solemn. it was very very quiet. i was, as usual trying hard not to be sleepy. suddenly a clap of thunder echos through the room bouncing off of every wall. now, very wide awake, as i had been rocked to my very foundation by the noise, i look over at heather sitting beside me and am aware that this sound came from her and this sound was in fact a sneeze. after getting control of the silent laughter that shakes your body, i managed to whisper to her "you couldn't transfer it?". please see this post about heather's transfer of sneezes. no she could not transfer. after a while the sound stopped bouncing off the walls and we continued with our worship.
in the white quiet stillness of the celestial room i felt a soft touch on my elbo. it was sister burgess. her and brother burgess stopped for a whispered hello. they asked about mom and dad of course. it was nice to see them. h and i were the last to go. it was past 9 when we walked outside and the temple was glowing in the just darkened sky.
