more viking stuff

hi. what can i say about today? i didn't go for my usual walk because i woke up too late and took the bus to work. i was very pleased because i got an el primo seat right by the back door. a filippino guy sat next to me and apologized for sitting on my flowy kimono layer. it's my nod to fall, i layered however lightly. i told the lad 'no problemetto' (as my hunny bunny would say) and patted him on the head.

oh yeah. i had a dream that katie and i moved into some rooms in a big old house and john who was our brother, and yet not the john we know as our brother, convinced us to rob the owners of the house. we climbed along the side of the house and suddenly we were pointing guns and yelling "GIVE US YOUR MONEY!" and i know a guy shoved some twenty dollar bills in my hand, and then john was off like a shot, his plaid shirt disappearing into the woods behind the house. katie and i tried to follow him but i had to get over this spot and i was afraid of heights, but finally i got down and thought, "we've got to get out of here!" but then i started thinking, "why did i rob the house i live in?? now i have to leave all my stuff behind and have nowhere to go! what about my cpap machine??"  then i woke up. note to self: don't do armed robbery to the home you live in.

at work we had a free breakfast--it was a weird conglomeration of eggs, croissants, hot dogs, hashbrowns, waffles and cookies from the agm. a mostly brown meal.

more progress was made on the box which we will fashion to look like a cake and make steven jump out of.

hunny bunny is still not feeling well. he has a weird kind of fever. he wakes up with his hands and feet burning up. apparently that's a way to release the excess heat from your body. i would just like him to be well and to feel good and to have hope. we must always have hope.

back to norway, on september 5th:

after the viking ship in tønsberg, we went to a place that has 8 or so large viking burial mounds that have not yet been excevated. there's a museum (we were a bit late for that, but we did see a few things in the gift shop area while waiting for barb to pee) and some other outdoor things.

this is a rune stone. i read the interpretation it's by a guy who was dying. he was writing about his sons.

in the background you can see people dressed in traditional norweigan dress. we don't know why, but they were there for some function--maybe a wedding.

barb does the poses i ask her to and then we both laugh about it quite a bit. i don't know why this pic really hit our funny bone, but it still makes me laugh.

after this we came home, had some pesto pasta, and barb and i watched a movie...did it have robbin williams?? i don't remember. we were both tired by the end. oh yeah it was about a comedian who almost became president but didn't.

that night i was so tired i was sitting on the air mattress and i was too tired to get up and turn off the light so when barb was walking by i asked her to turn it off.
