polar euphoria
the 3rd annual pathways polar bear swim was almost perfect. ok, todd and susan were late and i waited for them for 15 minutes, but because of that karen had time to join us, and anyway steven drives like a grandpa and somehow i caught up with him.
and ok it was cold and windy when we got to locarno, but the sun was shining and the tide was higher than any other year.
and ok when i asked daryl if he had his bathing suit under his clothes before we left and he said yes, he actually didn't so we were forced to dance around in our skimpies to keep the blood flow going while we waited for him to change, but we were all in high spirits and actually giddy with excitement and joy of the moment.
and ok the water was icy but it was exhilarating and we screamed and laughed and cheered and screamed some more.
and ok, mashood wore his only socks into the water and maria didn't bring pants but steven brought a reflective blanket and we all chugged hot chocolate as the last rays of sun glowed on the horizon... ya it was pretty perfect.
