ironically i'm the one with heart burn

there were only 2 of us out of 9 in our unit this morning. various reasons. all legit. some sick days, some vacation days, a pet emergency (poor jeff). we managed. and we made a funny ai picture of ee from the sentence 'earnest equestrian eemaan has existential crisis.' it was perfect. who knows what tomorrow will bring but it will probably contain some weird fun with ai images. we are still learning the ai rap performed by ai mary. 

mom picked me up at work and we drove through the thick soupy fog to langley where we met martha and layne at a thai restaurant. martha looked so pretty. look at her in this pic. she has a sparkle in her eye. so far she is loving her new living arrangement.  i hope she is comfortable, safe and happy there.

the food was so good. it's the best pad thai i've had in a looooong time. layne got duck lychee curry and martha got cashew nut chicken we three passed around our bowls and shared food. it was all good. layne surprised us by treating us all. after dinner we spent some time talking and layne showed mom a bunch of nyt puzzles that she can do on her phone. pictured below.

the drive home was quicker because of less traffic but there was just as much fog. on a foggy drive i don't mind having a car in front of me so i can follow their lights.

mom was just starting to read and catch up on blog posts when we arrived home and i went straight up to feed and play with a ravenous and fisky mei-mei.
