alto alto

i puzzled for an hour or so. puzzling can be so zen. i also made a play list filled with only one song--the hallelujah chorus. it's an hour and a half of the hallelujah chorus only. i have to get my fill.

at 3:30 i went outside to get picked up for stake choir. before choir practice everyone has to take turns picking me up. it's hard for the smaller ladies, but they are allowed to do it as a group. evelyn was late which is very unlike her. she is usually so on time that she's early. turns out there were some new wild cards on the route who weren't ready when she got there to pick them up. i sat in the back seat of my car to wait i waited 15 minutes and it was getting cold, even for me. well i was clad only in t-shirt, jeans and bare feet in crocs. so i put on my mitts. my jacket was there but i refused on matter of principle.

when ev arrived i climbed in the front and the whole ride to the stake center was a caucophony of voices and conversations. it was great.

i picked choir binder 10. i feel like it's an auspicious number. today i realized with joy and some relief that my voice is coming back. singing voice, that is. it's been off since i had covid at the end of october. it was quite distressing to me. i just couldn't sing properly. it was like there was a block. but today i could sing out in my old voice. or almost. there were a few times it wavered but on the whole, great improvement. this made choir fun. it was also fun to sing between evelyn and krystal and just belt out the alto with all confidence. and to hear strong bass and tenor behind me. fun fun fun. i love stake choir.

i got home in the middle of a visit from douglas tatiana, and madelaine and boyd. i quickly scarfed down some lasaga and entered in on the visiting.

a good day. a good sabbath. i need it. this week is going to be brutality-ville
