you must be the one

i'm indulging in bethany's yummy salad sans chicken.  a glorious salad.  i just didn't feel like thawing out and cooking the chicken and a glorious yummy salad without chicken is better than no glorious yummy salad at all.  am i right?  yes i am.

i've had unexpected time off this week.  long story short is that the construction dudes next door broke our water main.  just after lunch i was filling up the water jugs. 'what's with our water pressure?' i asked.  lisa said she noticed the same thing.  minutes later kristin came back from the walk with news.  water was pouring out of the door beside the thrift store.  'that's the electrical room!' lisa says.  we all run out to check it out.

that was monday--we were sent home early.  no work tuesday and no work wednesday.  right. on.

yesterday it was 11:30 and i was still lounging around in my pjs.  i had read my scriptures, wrote my morning pages and eaten a nectarine and a slice of sprouted whole wheat.  the day loomed long and lucious before me.  that's when lisa called and invited me for a walk and fish n' chips in steveston.  i was all over it.

i did something crazy.  i got a grilled fish burger instead of fish n'chips.  there was something in me that was rebelling against the deep fried batter but that something was totally ok with deep fried potatoes. that's totally different.  we ate and chatted and then walked around garry point.  there's a new and mysterious dock there.  it groans loud and metalically every time there's a wave.  we went on it.  we saw a seal.  i barked to him and he swam out further.  who knows what i said.  it could have been rude or threatening.  hope it wasn't biwy.

back on the wharf we bought tanya's baby a little something something because we're going there for a visit tomorrow.  we also got ice cream.  this was a bad idea because i became very very full.  it's just that timothy makes their waffle cones fresh and warm and chewy.  i don't have a defence against fresh, warm and chewy waffle cones.  i just don't.

however i needed to change into a looser shirt before meeting fats domino at metropolis at metrotown.  we were shopping for daman's birthday presents.  and he's getting some sweet gifts from his little lady.  i tried on some really odd clothing items at winners.

then i drove to yvr and picked up sarah and kyle who were out waiting by my third time around.  i showed them the yucky vitamin water i got.  i made the mistake of getting a low calorie one.  blech.  we got donairs.  this time cutie pie donair guy called out my name as we walked in.  there was a long line up that he was oblivious to.  "what's my name?" he tested me.  (i found it out the week before when i took sarah there.  s and k are obsessed with donairs lately.  he was washing windows and offered to wash mine) "deva." i answered.  he nodded his approval.  when he started on sarah and kyle's donairs, deva says to me "laura, would you like to dance?"  "right now?" i ask.  "just kidding." he says.  "you have donairs to make." says sarah.  i told him that this was my little sister.  he said we looked nothing alike.  he said sarah looked russian.  "because of her hair?"  i asked.  it was.  he said he lived in russia and many russian women had sarah's hair do.  anyways we all asked for extra sauce but i got extraExtra.  i saw sarah noticing it.  but he put an l on mine.  and i saw sarah frown.  i know she was hoping to procure it for herself. ha ha!  she has to cultivate her own donair guy relationship.  deva said he should be our brother because our names all sound the same.  i wonder how old he is.

by the way, a bus shmucked us.

drove s and k out to horseshoe bay and drove back home.

talked to h.

did stuff.

went to bed.

what is a 'slice of sprouted wheat'? I am intrigued!
what a nice fun day off! You sure made the most of it. I'm glad you have adopted the salud. It should be spread around so everybody can enjoy it. I suppose you are right, it would still be yummy sans chicken, but the chicken makes it SO good.
quite the love tension 'tween you and deva.
