big and small. biggie-smol. notorious b.i.g.
mohammad is back home. since before he went to visit his family he's been having trouble with the water. i don't totally understand the water system in his apartment, but what i do understand, is that periodically the water is on and during this time everyone fills up their water storage. everyone has a container on the roof and in their apartment. they fill these up and that's what comes in through the tap. but people also fill up many containers in their house besides these because the water system is not reliable. and other things complicate it. like people steal the water measurement devices from the water company because they have copper in them. and if you live on a lower floor you may have to wait for people on the higher floors to fill up because they have pumps and they take all the water pressure.
anyway he didn't have water for quite a while before he left and had to go fill up water bottles at his friend's offices etc, just to have enough to drink and cook with and wash dishes etc. and when he got back there still was no water. he had the owner of the apartment over to look at the problem and he was not helpful. so discouraging. i added it to our prayer at my breakfast. we often pray together at that time. i feel like there is so much that i cannot do to help my lover--so much out of my control. but i know God is mindful of us. i know he hears our prayers. i know he is the one to turn to in times of trouble. big or small. so we asked him for his help with the water. and we went on with our day/night.
m got up early because he has to go get his birth certificate translated. somehow we missed that in all our paper work work. anyways we were talking as he was waking up. he got up to do something and i was left for a while with just a view of the top of his mosquito net. but suddenly he was back telling me that the water came and he had to go fill up. low pressure. but still it came. i can't say for sure, but i think maybe he had a little more energy and pep in his step than before. 'hamduillah' i said (thanks to God) and we closed the call so he could do all he needed to do.
really thanks to God for mercies big and small and overflowing.
