wut

this is not a brag, but it IS the truth. I worked until 8:30 today.  that's about a 12 hour work day. ya. yep. yes. uh hu.

and it was a very eventful day which started out with sending someone home. this person took a dramatic public farewell, shall we say.

i had meetings and did things.

looked over resumes.

then i sent another person home. I was on a roll i guess. not that I take any pleasure in it. just had to be done and apparently today was the day.

i had lunch.

the plumber was here all day doing plumbing fixes. i was showing him the last leak and did some strata gossip with my strata counterpart who was off during all the last part of 2025 and so missed considerable strata drama.

i traded stickers with eemaan

had a debrief/update re the incidents.

consulted on health and safety project.

talked Polar bear swim strategy for our upcoming event. 3rd annual polar bear swim.

had a small break when amber came to chat about cats.

when most people left i hunkered down and started working on end of the year timesheets and new year timesheets, only taking a break when i heard the last people leave, saying "we don't need to alarm, laura's here" followed by the unmistakable sound of an alarm set. i corrected that pretty quickly.

when timesheets were done i spent some time looking over the faculty training paper work. (i'm doing that in feb) and then started going over the accreditation application.

before i knew it, it was 835 and mohammad was asking me if i was still at work. he hadn't slept yet. it was 7:35 in the morning for him. there is fighting in aleppo right now in the kurdish strongholds. government forces and the kurds. but of course civilians pay the price. hard to sleep when you hear the sounds of battles.

mohammad said it was haram to leave mei-mei alone for so long. i know it is. she didn't waste any time telling me what was on her mind when i got home.  and what was on her mind was food, cuddles, and play in that order.

when she left my room in search of another bite from her bowl I took the opportunity to shut her out for the night and here we are.
