when things get done

i felt productive today and if productiveness is a feeling and not an objective quantifiable measurement then what I'm saying is today, in my eyes, i was a winner.

i did things. i got others to do things. things happened and i contributed. so meaningful.

sarah had emergency surgery last night. she had her 'bowels twisted in a knot' as Jordan likes to say. thankfully she's ok. here's an exerpt from our text exchange:

hope she feels better soon.

i had an after hours meeting and got home later than usual to mom and dad post meal. i quickly scarfed down some ham, roots, bun and green beans and joined them in a game of phase 10.

the game fell apart when dad got stuck on a phase and could no longer stomach it. so we moved on to a manicure. he's really jumpy. yelps and growls when i get too close to "the quick" as he says. so naturally i enjoyed myself immensely. after snipping we did some filing followed by some vitamin e.

see what i mean? productive. things were done.

Productive feels so good. I'm addicted. But as you age sometimes you lose your productivity-ness....like Dad. It takes real skill then to feel useful. To learn what Milton said ..on his blindness...He also serves who only sits and waits.
