snow day and so on

the promise/threat of snow was in our hearts and minds all day.

it started 10ish but we couldn't see it from the window. just a few flakes wafting in the wind. meanwhile we gathered around the table, cutting christmas cards, stuffing envelopes and stamping our address on them. we did over 500.

lunch was a hit-the-spot, stick-to-your-ribs, hearty fried chicken on pasta with mushroom sauce. i was a fan. after lunch the snow was definitely visible. we could see it flying in the gales of wind that whipped around the building.

a chubby little cutie pie of a hummingbird perched on our dead tomato plant jungle and charmed us all. graham said he saw him playing in the snow and licking it.

by 2:30 tanya told us to go home. and we did so hastily. mireya, who lives in south surrey didn't get home until after 7:30 but i reap the rewards of living close to work and got home in the usual 10 minutes.

snow continued to fly. i've swept my stairs off 3 times now. mom has applied a very liberal amount of ice to our walk. we had stuffed salmon for dinner and played a game of uno. despite my best efforts dad won. mom and i enjoy giving bad cards to each other. but i probably enjoy it the most. i chortle with glee as she receives a plus 4. but actually come to think of it i remember her having immense joy while piling me up with cards one turn after another. so, it's mutual.

my tummy's been gurgling all night. i don't know if it's the cream in the caramel sauce or the salmon and shrimp, but my bum's become a faucet.  you're welcome.

i'm reading a book about the indian act called 21 things you may not know about the indian act. by bob joseph. having time to read is a direct result of my tik tok fast and i want you to know that.
