the thing about may is, all of a sudden almost all the trees have leaves and they act like they had them the whole time.  the giant flowering chestnut trees?( i do delight in the giant flowering chestnut trees!) "we were always thus", they say with a toss.  the dogwoods? bedecked and glorious?  "this is how we  are," they smirk.  no.  you were all just naked! only the weeping willows had tiny little neon leaves! they stare at me blankly.  "poor child. you should look up from your phone once in a while."  "yeah, try looking around!" they laugh hilariously, wipe and tear of laughter away and continue preening. liars.  i know the truth, i grumble.  and dip deep into wonder again.  trees.  they are so so....

today i had an appointment with my guy, jasub.  i told him the news about the operation.  it was the best appointment actually.  we spent the first part just talking about it and i asked him questions and he explained everything to me.  so our plans changed.  now jasub's mission is to strengthen my other muscle.  the side calf one.  it's weaker because the other one is so take charge and jasub said it will weaken more during the after op rest period.  so our mission is to work on that.  i have 2 new exercises to add to my regimen.  the hardest one is balancing on my right foot on a cushion with only a finger to on the wall to help balance me and do it for a minute 3x.  that one burned.

jasub said that footbridge, that's where my orthopedic surgeon is, must have a lot of surgeons because he's been getting a lot of clients from there. jasub said operations rarely get changed, so be prepared for may 21.  he also had the answers about when i'll be able to drive again. he said probably around 10 weeks, 2.5 to 3 months.  depending on how well you recover.  basically you need to be able to put all your weight down on your right foot and do these other things...like a quick switch between gas and brake kind of movement.  jasub knows.

i'm feeling a little discouraged.  i just had a shower.  my shower is so tiny and i put a chair in there but there is barely any room and how do i get in and out without putting pressure on my foot and without falling because it will be wet...  but i guess it will all work out or i will get very proficient at bird baths.  and i'll survive.

Physiotherapists are the best. Maybe you should use a bath stool. That would make more room in the shower then a chair would. Maybe you could phone the doctor's office and get the receptionist or someone to send a requisition to the Red Cross for you for 1 and then you would just have to go pick it up before your surgery. If you think this is a good idea don't procrastinate.
