the morning after.
this year the fundraising dinner was at the river rock casino. i was doing the photography for the event so i was traipsing all over the place most of the night. i enjoyed the access to the balcony so i could do the birds eye view. david lin brought his camera for me to use and the clubhouse has 2 dslr cameras. one was set up on a tripod to take video of mike's (pathways member) speech and the other one i had with me. part way through the night the cannon ran out of battery and so then i relied solely on david lin's camera until after mike's speech when i could take the nikkon off the tripod. it was a 3 camera night. there was also a student from a local high school doing some photography so i'm sure we covered the event quite well. that morning i was up early at the job site covering for a sick member. then i went with some of the group to the rock to help set up and do helium balloons. then i went back to pathways clubhouse for a little while and then home to have a shower, then back to the rock at 3 because they were setting up the lighting at that time and i wanted to check it out with the cameras. i guess when you do an event they give you a hotel room so we all hung out in the hotel room for a little while and some people got ready. i mostly sat in a chair and yawned a steady chain of yawns as i do. 5 o'clock came and we were on. home by 9:30. dead to the world by 10.
this week is my first week in my new position but i haven't fully left the kitchen yet. today i am helping out but tomorrow i should be downstairs the full day. to be honest it's weird and it's hard to let go. and to feel like i belong in the new place. i guess that will just take time.
