the breakfast was pretty amazing.  first there was a choice of different kinds of breads, and you could toast them or have a warm slice, and there was jams and red berry butter, and olive butter, and there were all sorts of sliced meats and cheeses.  i tried brunost (brown cheese) because it's a unique norwegian thing.  in actuality it's not actually cheese but made out of the whey you get in the cheese making process.  anyways there was bacon, little pancakes, fried ham, omlettes, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, soft and hard boiled eggs, a huge salmon, smoked salmon, weiners, green, yellow and red smoothies, yogurt with extensive musli type toppings, little norwegian heart waffles and a bowl of  a blend of forest berries, tomato halves baked with oregano and cheese on top, vitamin shots (i had a beet and a tomato one), pastries....it was very extensive.  beans...

i had my first breakfast at 7 by myself and looking out the window.  when i was done i went off on an adventure. i had noticed from my room that there was a river behind the road running behind the hotel.  i knew there was probably a path going along there so i went in search.  sure enough there was but i couldn't see a walk way to it so i had to jaywalk across the highway.

so i walked along the path stopping to take a picture of anything that took my fancy.  it was cloudy foggy morning.  part way down the path i started seeing weird art installations at random spots. that's so scandinavian.

as i was walking i felt twinges in my foot but i wanted to keep going to see what was around the next corner.  then i saw a fountain in the river and i had to go at least that far.  by the time i did turn around it was quite sore.  all in all it was an hour walk, but not a fast paced one.  when i got back and took off my shoes and put my feet up my bum foot was in agonies. so much so that i wished i had brought my air cast with me.  like old injury status.  i'm not sure what to do because i don't want this dumb subtalar traction injury to hold me back in adventuring.

after about 30 mintues it was time to meet the group for breakfast #2.  i met dave at his room. he came out in a cloud of vape.  "were you vaping" i asked accusitorily.  he laughed.  he showed me his room.  dave hope and mike all got big rooms with double beds.  me and michael, the board member got the little closet rooms.  if i was on survivor i'd know where i stood on the alliance.  i don't mind though.  i don't need a big room.  i'm just glad to be here and my narrow little bed is comfy.

for second breakfast i just got a few things that i hadn't gotten before.  we were very leisurely and hung out there quite a while.  we decided we would go into oslo in the afternoon and meet up at 1pm.  then we all went our seperate ways.  except i went to dave's room to get some advil from his 'pharmacy'.

back in the room i edited photos and listened to pod casts.  our oslo plans fell apart on our group chat.  first mike said he couldn't because his laundry would not be done until 2pm.  then dave said he would stay with mike.  then i was like oh i better rest my foot and then dave said hope isn't going either.  haha.  hope, of course wanted to sleep.  hope is a notorious sleeper.  i ended up having another nap.  1.5 hours.  barb told me scandinavians have a lot of naps.  so i told her i had my norwegian daily.

we met at dave's room at 5:30.  dave had drinks and gave me an orange pop called solo.  it tasted like carbonated tang.  dave was thoughtful to me in the drinks department.  he would go buy drinks for everyone and get me a pop, like seven up.  which is so nice.  but in truth i'm more happy with water.  give me water over pop any day.

when we went down to the meet n greet it was full of mingling people and lots of food.  the main things were not that great.  a lot of pasta and some meatballs.  there were chicken legs too but i didn't try that.  it felt like too messy of an option.  salads, meats, cheeses, etc etc.  the best thing was the chocolate...dare i say klad kakka?  i think that was what it was.  it's like a cross between a cake and a brownie.  smooth silky chocolate on top and a dense chocolate almost brownie underneath with a little bit of a crust, like a brownie gets.  each little square had a raspberry or strawberry skewered on top.  i had 3.  don't judge me.  the third put me over the top.  i got choco-greedy.

we found a little area in a lounge to sit and we ate and talked and took selfies and joked with others etc.  we met up with hero house, which is the clubhouse in washington.  the former ed of hero who then opened a clubhouse in california is erica. she is pretty funny and always has a funny tale to tell.

meanwhile i was eyeing the shuffle boards.  this guy erik, a member of hero house, told me how to play.  i got hope, dave and mike to play with me.  dave said the losers had to take sneak pics with whoever the winners chose.  best out of 5.  hope and i won the first game in a landslide but lost the next 3 so now we have to do the sneak pics.

in 2015 i went to a clubhouse conference in denver with lindsay and dave and lindsay and i chose 'conference boyfriends'.  just people we crushed on from afar and didn't really talk to.  mine was a shy norwegian guy and hers was a guy from utah.  dave got really into it and kept choosing different asian gfs and then 'breaking up' with them.  anyways we are all on the outlook for our conference bfs or gfs.  i haven't seen mine yet.

when we were going back to our rooms i was all "i don't feel tired at all." to hope.  but after i got to my room it hit me like a brick wall.  so goodnight.  tomorrow the conference begins in real.  it's going to be weird not going to church. but going to plenaries and workshops will be good.  just the party animals at night will feel especially weird on a sunday.  i'm going to pretty much opt out.

k. byeeee.

Thanks for keeping me posted Laura. I'm loving it. I need some adventuring second hand.
