sisters weekend gardom lake day 1

i woke up early.  never mind that we went to sleep after one.  never mind that.  just mind that mistakes were made in the making of the bed.  mind that.  i didn't pull my blue squish that fills in the crack left by the sleeping pad up high enough so my head was resting in a hole.  mind that i've trained myself all summer to wake up early.  mind that.

this was the view of the sky from my window.
i stayed in the car a while but there is only so much laying there awake that one can do.  see that sarah sleeps peace behind me.
soon i got up to do my scripture study on the porch. i sat on the 0 gravity chair which was comfy after i painfully squished my girthy hips past the poky knobs.  soon amy crawled out from the tent and andrea appeared as well.
this is a weird reflection of me.

the sawdust toilet mom delights in.

when bethany scrambled out of the trailer we decided to go on a rambling exploratory walk together.

go crouch over there i said.  "i like my boobs!" exclaimed bethany upon inspection of the pic. we all agreed that verily the boozam was on point.

andrea joined us and offered to show us the pet graveyard.

jody is burried there.  behind that in a grove of trees is an area for bozenka's daughter who passed away.

the twins and andrea left for town.  bethany wanted an oil change and andrea had some things to get... everyone else started getting up.  we sat around and chit chatted.  we helped mom set up her wasp trap which she hung from a near by tree.
mom had super cute jammies. so did sarah.  sarah said that the night before mom flung off her covers to show her jammies could compete with sarah's cute jammies. i like this pic of her behind the screen door.

after the twins and andrea returned the breakfast group started making smoothies.  i brought ice cream jars for everyone to drink their smoothies from and everyone had to pick which flavour of jar (not smoothie).  somehow bethany ended up with eggnog.  meant to be.  once one is egg, one is always egg.  katie, me and the twins were a group.  we made our smoothies in conveyor belt fashion.  i was in charge of chopping up frozen bananas.  amy was next to me.  she vowed not to let any smoothy to be runny.  not on her watch!  she stuffed many a pineapple chunk in the the pina colada ones.  katie and bethany were on the end.  bethany fluctuated from putting 'gert (yogurt.  don't say 'gert i said.  it was said anyway) to powering the ninja bullet to angry growls on not to forget the toasted coconut.  katie was in charge of peanut butter and also ran the blender.  amy helped pour the finished product and i handed them out the door to recipients.  we heated up the egg bites and people ate them with chipotle mayo.  i think i ate mine cold and plain that day.

after breakfast and clean up we had a meeting to make plans.  said meeting often dissolved into side convos, teasing and tangents.  we finally decided we would go to gardom lake and we would go out for dinner that night and have a photo shoot before.  then came the flurry and confusion of people getting changed in the trailer, finding and applying sun screen, picking out floaties, who was driving and who was walking...etc.  in the middle of that andrea gave mom a cute dress to wear over her suit.  it was blue and white and long and flowy.  mom looked pretty in it.  she gave amy a burgundy striped one.  she looked like a shepherd.  we gave her several biblical names such as zebadiah.

i was in the group that arrived in bethany's van. sarah, andrea, and amy walked.  just previous to leaving i had tweaked something in my leg, just above my ankle and couldn't walk or put any weight on it without a sharp pain.  i tweaked it by going up the stairs to the trailer.  my body is weird.  it takes almost nothing for a part of it to go suddenly bum.  andrea sprayed her magnesium spray on it and we put an ice bottle on it which katie held in place.  anyways after a while i decided to just walk on it and after a few steps it was fine.

i got outside just in time to see the hilariously cute sight of andrea racing, white top knot bobbing, in the middle of her sheep with their tails up.  it was the best sight ever.  sarah got a very good video of it.  it's going viral.

gardom lake was a cute little lake.  it had a number of  rafts to swim out to and 2 islands.  and lots of geese and ducks.  we had the place pretty much to ourselves and we got in the water right away.  the first part is sandy and then there is a shallow field of greens to swim over.  when you get even with the 1st raft you can safely let your legs dangle without a worry of meeting a weed.  we had lots of fun swimming.  in and out and deep and deeper and farther  and farther.

katie paddle boarded.  paddle boarding is her keen delight.
mom looking very cute in her floatie.
katie come up ominously behind martha on the orange floatie.  later andrea traded floaties with martha and martha found her new home in the bobbing blue.  andrea then paddled this orange floatie out to where we had congregated in the deep, but her face was amost face down on the pillow and she had a very ominous look.  an evil eye that poked above the pillow.
sarah and her glam tube of golden glitters looking fab.

bethany and i climbed up on the raft that had a diving board.  i wanted to try jumping off of it but when it got to the part where there was nothing to hang on to, and just a sheer drop on either side,  i had to turn back.  but bethany dove off of it and then i dove off the side.  there was a lot of goose poo on both rafts.    after eveyone else went back towards shore, katie asked me if i wanted to go to the island with her and check out some stairs we saw coming down to the water.  so i did.  i swam and she paddled.  when we got mostly there, i waited in the non-weedy area and let katie go all the way to the stairs to inspect them.  andrea called from shore not to explore without them.  we planned to revisit the next day with the row boat.

after getting out i sat on the sun warmed stone benches drying off.  not long after we drove back.  we shoved katie's paddle board in the back of the van and drove with the hatch open.  we got a little lost but a nice man with a slavic sounding accent sent us in the right direction.

there was a table of yumminess waiting for us on our arrival back.  buns, and meats and hummuses, carrots, and garden cucumbers, peaches, wasps...(mom's wasp trap was failing us) chips, and sarah's cookies.

after lunch we had some lie downs.  sarah and i lay in the car with the hatch open to let some of the day's heat out and talked.  bethany joined us later and after a while so did amy.  we did some pics of us as guys.  amy's had boobs and that made us laugh hard.

after a while sarah started her business of beautifying the ladies.

i visited katie and andrea on their bed.  i lay between them and we chatted.  while we did andrea noticed that her skylight was off it's spot so katie climbed up on the roof to fix it and i took the opportunity to take some clicks of her.
andrea had some silk wrap around skirts made from saris and gave a sky blue one to martha and had a blue top for her too.  sarah did her make up and she looked really pretty.  sarah did a lot of people's hair and make up.  some got one and not the other and some got both and a few of us got none, taking care of our beauty ourselves.  i was the latter.  i had pretty lake hair and just wore my pink skirt and black pleather top and gave myself a bright lip using sarah's lip stuff.  while people were finishing up i took martha aside and took some shots of her.  she still wows me with her beauty.  then everyone was done and we did a few group shots.  the first one was on a rustic bench.  the first time i didn't make it back in time and the timer went off while i was standing.  the second time i barely made it. the 3rd time i got sarah who was doing a dynamic crouch in front to be one who pressed the shutter then ran.  that worked out better.

next we tried a hugging pose but that one frustrated me.  i don't know why i get so frustrated in group poses sometimes. people don't see themselves and how the things they are doing look.  anywho i burst out "i don't even like this pose!" and that ended that one.  then we did what became known as a pile of sisters.  that was the winner.

after that was over we headed to salmon arm to a restaurant called namaste. it was martha's pick.  we were the only ones there so there was not that big of a deal that we totally missed our reservation.  mom got butter chicken flat bread and the rest of us shared.  i chose fish vindaloo. other choices were of course butter chicken,  lamb rogan josh, green lamb curry, chicken korma, and two others i can't think of that were either lamb or chicken.  all was yummy. i filled up fast with my garlic naan and sauces.

after we got home i went to bed right away. i had tried to right the wrongs of the bed from the night before but forgot to put husky at the top to block the hole, so things were still not right.  that night it got a lot colder.  andrea said it was 9.  so i used my fuzzy brown blanket.
