blog a day 2
ok well today i had a lazy start and to tell you the truth, lazy mornings are the best. i even did some scripture study, which i have been so poor at doing lately. but i want to be better and now is a good time to start.
elizabeth is very interested in death right now. i was sitting on the couch as she was playing with her family of mini people. the mother was dying. elizabeth explained that a wolf had scratched her very badly on the neck and that she would die. she wanted me to play the mother. i didn't want to. i wasn't feeling her death, if you know what i mean. i took the mother and made her jump up and say in a cheery voice "i'm feeling much better! i'm pretty sure i'm not going to die." "yes you are!" growled the dad through clenched teeth. then i was switched to be the son. "hey mom i'll get you a bandaid. it will make you feel better." i offered in my most helpful manner. "no! she's going to the hospital to DIE!!!" deadly glares from elizabeth.
i spent some time laying flat in bed with my laptop edged close to my chin editing photos. it's how all the editing greats do it.
just before 3 i helped katie get the roast into the oven. we adapted a pioneer woman recipe. instead of carrots we used one mammoth beet, instead of wine, turkey broth, rib juice, red wine vinegar aaaand two cloves of garlic for good measure.
just as we were finishing a lady from katie's ward who wishes to be kept anonymous (name rhymes with burley. that's all i'm saying) came to take us shopping for winter clothes for the girls. she wanted them to be warm enough when they move up north so they won't be miserable. super nice right? she bought them coats with thinsulite and snowpants and boots. i wasn't really needed so i spent my time intagramming and texting.
then it was time to pick ma and pops beet up from the ferry in duke, which we did. and we brought them home with us too. then it was a little crazy downstairs so i came up to my room to work on photos while dinner was finished. dinner was good stuff. good stufforama.
after dinner was family home evening. michealah told the nativity story to elizabeth who put the nativity window decals on the mirror with natalie's ever present help.
next on the agenda was a visit to santa at the mall. i took mom and dad in the duck. dad who was reluctant to go, seemed to want to stop and shop at every little distraction. the bikes, the coats, the phones, oh the phones! and well, santa wasn't there so katie and brent and the girls went for ice cream and mom and dad and i went back the way we came, stopping at two phone places and old navy to look at a coat dad liked. mom didn't want dad to get a new phone. this bugged dad. we didn't get out of the mall until lights were being shut off and doors locked.
then mom and dad showed us this new stuff that dad is selling and they are both super excited about. it cures cardiovascular disease yo.
night.
ps. i just realized that my shirt was inside out the whole day.
