i'm so so so tired.  i stayed up late last night making little presents for my counsellors.  i'm carahssy like that. yesterday we spent every last minute of the afternoon baking treats for today's 25th anniversary open house.  we made 4 chocolate cinnamon babkes which were divine.  and i made this apple mosaic tart with salted caramel glaze.  beautiful and delicious.  we made two huge ones which w as like 4 timesing the recipe.  it was a lot of apple  slicing let me tell you.  in the which i sliced two of my nails right off.

today we made lots of pizzas to serve for lunch and made all the dessert platters.  then we went straight into setting up for the open house.  it was a lot of work.  we cleared out the dinning room, set up tables and made everything look fancy-shmancy.  one thing i like is that we can sometimes bicker between units but when we have a big event everyone just comes and pitches in until everything is done.  no complaining.  i appreciate that.  last week on the justin trudeau day i had a run in with a co-worker who was taking my stuff down without asking me.  it was my special low ceiling creation and i just didn't like the way she went about it without asking or saying anything. she wasn't even from our unit.  but today i saw she had a lot to get done before 1pm.  so i helped her and it felt good.

by the end of the day i was so tired.  kaz kept saying "only 45 more minutes." ha ha.  45 minutes seemed like an eternity.  the babke was a big hit.  babke is a glorious thing. sarah and kyle know this.  you should find a way to know this too.

so i got a 'new' car thanks to evan who helped me find it and go get it without complaint.  it's a 1992 nissan stanza.  this is the year i graduated.  just saying is all.  she's white.  her name is jemima puddle duck.  thanks to biffy-la-boeuff for the suggestion.

sunday was our primary presentation.  all the kids miraculously came.  before it started i was going around trying to find subs for the kids i wasn't sure would be there, but then in the end they were all there and i was happy.  i spent the presentation kneeling on the floor beside the pulpit helping the kids as they came up, if they needed it.  the kids did fantastic as expected.  i was so proud of them.  i had a moment near the end when  they were singing and i was resting my knees via my bum.  i thought about that special chapter when jesus visited the nephites and blessed the children.  how he held them and blessed them and how angels were amongst them and how he said 'behold your children' and how the children taught the people.  and i teared up a little.  i'm so so so blessed to work with these children an to be a witness to their purity and specialness all the time.  i love to hear and see them earnestly teaching the people of the ward the gospel in their own words and in their own way.  it was a moment.

Sounds like some satisfying productivity. The food you talk about makes my mouth water. Next time we get together we must make loco moco together!! I learned of it in Hawaii. You would LOVE UT.
I know what you mean about the kids. They are so pure and touching. And that's exiting about the new car!! Genuis name, might I say. Good work.
