a perfect day in may
this is the missing day of my trip to tofino to visit amy-the-beloved. it was a perfect day--it was sunny and full of promise. we decided to ride bikes to the beach. i got a discount rental at the bus station with my bus ticket. it took FOREVER to rent the bike. it was tofino time. then we rode our bikes for 30 seconds and stopped at the grocery store to buy some lunch and treatsies for our trip. ate some mojos and pizza and were on our way.
it was such a bright and beautiful day and we were so euphoric. everything filled us with wonder and joy and giddiness. at one point amy trusted in her inner genious and guided us off of the highway path onto the road that runs parallel to the beach. there were so many awesome houses in there. i loved that part of the ride. everywhere i looked there was something new to marvel at. it was along this stretch of road that i made up some sort of song that i can't quite remember. i hope amy does.
not long after the special road, we were at the beach and so we explored, felt the wind and the sun and of course took lots of pic-i-loos.
this shell is a fish. look it's fish!
what i love about this pic is the water and the sand in the shell. it's like the shell is a miniature of our world, holding sun sand and water with blue all around. also i like the way it gleams and swells.
hi. here it is from another angle.
frankly the wind was abusing us. so we took some sun and quiet time on the board walk. i enjoyed out and out laying on it. amy was on the look-out for hog-something a bad plant that gives you blisters for the rest of your life.
-hi
-hello there.
look at my gams ma!
warrior
a beaut
a gentle tenderness in her heart for leaves is exposed.
i just liked her hair in the sun as she ran.
then there was the dancing on the beach...
and then the jumping. amy jumps with grace. i love her jumping forms.
me, not so much but it was the moment. the moment was for jumping and so i did.
it was a perfect day. that night we made risotto and felt quite self-congratulatory. it was my last night.
