one night i went for a walk on the dike.  i had never been to this exact spot before.  there was a nice little path through some farmy land and around a factory of some sort.
heather visited me on the weekend.  friday night we shopped for clothes for her to wear to las vegas.  at value villiage i found a new york times cookbook.  frog leg soufle was found inside.  it calls for lbs of legs! why do frogs have to die for our soufles?  shauna was with us and we met scott in new west at the white spot--aka the right spot.

saturday morning i made us cheese omelettes and then we went for a walk.  i decided to show heather finn slough. we met some super skinny cats.  one had a snaggle tooth.  we were worried they were starving but a lady with a dog named suva knocked on the door and we just found out that they were super old.  we walked past the settlement to the dike and around the train tracks.  on the way there heather spotted snails all over these trees.

we walked along the tracks and heather stepped in dog poo.  this is her cleaning out her shoes.  while she was doing that i walked to the little bridge and saw what looked like a ferret swimming.  turns out it was a river otter.  i didn't know they were so skinny.  and i found out later that day that they are in the weasel family.
i was taking pics of wild roses and heather spotted a hummingbird.

in the afternoon we went the ubc biodiversity museum.  it was awesome.

today i went on a walk along the blueberry fields again.  i saw a spotted towhee. and of course cherry blossoms...
and this tiny pale periwinkle moth.
 tulips!

I am in love with so many of those pics. You amaze me Laura Clarke!!! Heather stepping in dog poo reminds me of when went eagle watching and stepped in some. Not nice. I wish people would pick up after their dogs.
