sensitive
i'm senseetive. my skin is doing things it shouldn't. like it shouldn't break out in eczema in various cracks and crevices and it shouldn't turn green when i wear a bracelet that i've had for a couple of years. it should be saving it's energy for looking young and fresh. it should be plumping up wrinkle lines. that's what it should be doing.
yesterday i was at playland all day having fun times with my friend theresa. i went to pick her up at her new house just around 10am. she gave me a short tour and i said hi and bye to brad and the dogs and then we left. theresa wanted some sun so she was clad only in a tank top and shorts sans sun screen. "i want some colour." she would mutter repeatedly while rocking back and forth. whatever. so we stopped at tim hortons for a breakfast sandwich and a toasted bagel or whathaveyou. really hit the spot.
i parked up the hill on a residential side street and we walked down to the playland gate. it was a bit of a chilly day--never hot but sometimes sunny. "what ride are we going to do first?" i asked theresa with excitement. "i don't know. i don't plan it out like you do." "i don't plan it out!" i retorted, "but we have to make a decision or we'll never go on any ride." so we chose--beach party. we went on to many rides and many laughs and lots of talks.
there's a new ride at playland called atmosfear. it's a swing ride that goes very very high (highest ride at playland) and very fast (60 or 70 km/h i think). theresa was excited about it and i was nervous. "it's so high." i'd start. "you're going." she'd say as firmly as she could. "you only have one out and that's the coaster." "you can't take such a hard line with me." i'd object. we decided to do it just before we stopped for lunch. funny thing happened. once on the ride i was less scared and theresa was super scared. like frozen in fear scared. "i can see your house from here" i joked. she responded in bursts of staccato, "laura! no!"
we ate at the white spot. they wouldn't let us have a cup of water. you had to pay the same as pop just for the cup. they had these tiny sacrament cups and a water cooler. so i opted for that and then just filled up my pop cup later on. lame-ohs. we made up stories about the people around us and talked a lot.
we went on a lot more rides. laughed a lot. talked a lot. i got a grape sno cone that totally fufullied all my wants and needs. theresa got mini doughnuts. we decided to do the atmosfear again. theresa surveyed people in the line about the ride. she tried to convince them all that it was scarey. no one really believed. the second time up she was less scared but still really scared. she started talking like a person with ocd which made us laugh. it was freezing up there in the atmosfear.
she was turned away from the kids fun house. "it's only for kids" said the boy in charge. "but parents go on it." objected theresa. "but they are parents." reasoned the boy. we walked away and she was dejected. i was turned away from the hells gate ride because of the new no flip flop rule. we sat on opposite sides of the pirate ship and took pics of each other. we went on the enterprise for our last ride and made friends with the two little boys in front of us in line. they were so exuberant. their favourite ride was the atmosfear . i outed theresa as a chicken on that one. hehe. the enterprise was their 3rd fave and they challenged us to do it with no hands which i did but theresa gave in mid ride.
we ended the day with some mini doughnuts and a slow walk back to the car. theresa saw a guy walking a pug and literally ran to catch up to him to have a pug talk. pug owners. meh.
today i taught the primary kids about modesty while wearing a dress that bounces up to reveal my garments while i walk. oh the irony--the hypocrisy. i put their modesty pics up on the wall outside the primary. some of them were so hilarious.

That is sad about the kid ride. haha.
I'm afraid you didn't get a fudge sundae with extra fudge sauce...that was very rude.
