red carpet inn

i know this has been said before, but california is a very long state.  and the i5 goes through vast tracts of land, straight road, same thing on either side, nothing varying for hours and hours on end. that's my least favourite part. but now that part is over and natalie and i are holed up in a  cute little motel room.  after a half hour or so of confidences, questions, discussions and most of all stories, i had to put my foot down about quiet time.

i worry about the bbs.  the mattresses are protected with special covers but does that mean they once had them here?  paranoia, but it can't be helped.

my toe isn't broken as far as i can tell. i know this will be a relief to a lot of people.  today was the first day that i could move it without a lot of pain.  it's still a little bit fat and purple and blue all over so maybe it was just a sprain or jam.  i've also discovered that the wound on my knee (yes it's the same knee that lost a huge chunk that night sarah and i went out to get dilly bars and return my movie) looks like a rabbit.  there's a lot of time on a road trip to discover such things.

ps i wore the baggiest bum shorts today and i could barely stand it.
