fatima's engaged! to daman! here's to love! part 1!
so fats and big D were renting a wonderful place on alberni right at the edge of the park. and when i say the park i mean lord stanley's wonderful park. it had pretty much a 180 view of me lud's park and of coal harbour. it was pretty fantastic. i met them there and they gave me macadamia nuts. i watched an old couple in love crossing the street in slow motion way down below. he had a cane and she had a scooter. they were on a date.
well i digress. before we went out for our adventures we did some 'warm ups' on the communal roof top. the sun was super bright and hot so some of these are hazy. listen--they're warm ups!
of the warm ups, this one below might be my favourite.
there were some other warm-ups that i liked but ruined by being bright as life the sunglass reflextions. this would be cool if it were all about me, but it wasn't. so until i learn to photoshop myself out--i'm skipping those ones.
i gave these a little retro colouring and i like it. i had to take these shots fast because #1 fatiramrammi cannot abide the threat of cars and #2 knealing on cobblestone hurts the knee-knockers. (i really like that building in front of the youngloves. i noted it on rememberance day (this is by victory square) and imagined living in it when i should have been remembering veterens.) who does brackets inside of brackets? i do.

this is when fats decides to pull out her "i'm a woman of spice and now i've got me a tastey herb" look.

ok, i said, you need to pick up fatima and twirl her around, i said. something my bud enjoyed quite a bit.
the mirror series. i was quite excited when i saw it but soon realized i wasn't skilled enough yet to take full advantage. oh well. here's what i got. note in the last one that i got myself in the shot as well, and my camera bag. ha!
i got honked at while taking this picture. hey! can't a girl cross the street while simultaneously stalk-clicking? give me a break!
the viking series: please forgive me but i put a lot of these in. even similars. there was something about each one i liked, so what do you do? if you have 500 children that you love, do you shun one because there's no room for him? no, you squish!!
this one below is blurry because i didn't have time to focus--i had a manual lens at the time and they surprised me with the impromptu twirling. but i still like this shot.
anything i said to do they would do! they were so trusting and obedient. i preshiated that.
i like these ones. the youngloves look so, so i don't know... cool!
reverse charlies angels. i couldn't help it!
i love love love the flare on these ones! i didn't think they were turning out when i was taking them, but hello flare!
jumping... do you think i do jumping shots too much? i just love the jumps! this one below is my favourite of all the jumps and i made them jump a lot.
this one is cute and funny. love it.
a green wall we were drawn to.
our attempts to acheive the sound of music heart silohette. you know, during maria and the captain's love scene?
behind the green house was this camper. thus the camper series was born. we were pretending this was the younglove's first home.
above the camper were some intriguing iron stairs...
the sun was really bright here and so sometimes daman looks like a bit ghostish on fatima's shoulder, but i still like it.
i was taking these shots when someone started throwing garbage at us out the windows. so we had a hunch that we had outstayed our 'welcome'.

these are their tough faces. it makes me laugh.
and that's the end of part one! i really loved taking these shots and editing them. going over them and seeing their faces made me happy and i thought to myself so many times "i love these guys!" oh the youngloves.
