mom always said jordan was her little turkey
edith's celebratory vaccination dinner with cilantro and vitamin c:
then i put it all together in a warmed up pita or wrap with some sour cream. derishus! you can make it with chicken too, or any meat i guess, but i especially like it with turkey breast. turkeys have big boobs so one breast did for edith and i to each have two full wraps.
apparently cilantro and vitamin c are good for binding to metals and escorting them to the door, so that's why edith gets her special dinner on vaccine day.
i'm feeling quite pleased with myself today. i had a good day. we're making some changes at work and today we implemented them and it worked quite well. it made me feel more like i did when i first started there--like i was doing something important. like i was really helping people, and not just making a lot of meals and performing manual labour. i hope we can keep it up.
oh! and last night i had a camera lens epiphany! i just couldn't figure out why i didn't have the proper equipment to use all my lenses. the weird thing was that one of grampa's lenses fit on my camera and one of them didn't. and there was this pesky little adapter ring that seemed like it was supposed to fit and just didn't. so in place of going to bed, i instead got out all the camera stuff, lined up all the lenses and thought until my thinker was sore. i tried different things. i examined each lens. then came the epiphany. the adapter ring WAS the magic ingredient. part of it had just broken off and the other part was bent. so i unbent it with the help of a trusty pen, and sure enough it worked! so i'm proud to report that i can now use all seven of my lenses. this is great news! i need a bigger camera case, man. i then spent more late night hours when i shoulda been snoozin, like thomas lynde, learning myself on what exactly focal lengths are and what they mean and what lenses were what. if i actually knew stuff i could actually use the stuff i knew for good, you know? well that's it. i have to go clean up archie's vomit.
- cut a turkey breast into strips about the size of your pinkie... ish, (not you elicia. your pinkie is minuscule)
- grate the rind of a lime and add rind and juice from lime to turkey (you can also add a few splarshes of orange juice too if you have it, but i didn't.)
- add liberal squirts of honey
- chop up some cilantro and mix it all up. (if you are a cilantro hater like heather, it's still good without the cilantro)
- let it sit for while, while you do your other preparations.
- meanwhile make some fresh salsa if you want to. i added cilantro and lemon rind/juice to mine.
- while making your salsa you could have some rice cooking if you wanted to.
- back to the turkey, take the pieces of turkey and fry them up. i did mine in the wok, but you don't have to. save the mixture it was soaking in. after the turkey is white all over and cooked a bit, add the lime/honey/cilantro juices and cook until the liquid is gone and the turkey pieces are nice and browned and caramelized.
