to excess 1
we started a new menu today, thus there was no end to the work of the day. i made crab cakes. crab with a 'k'.
after work i went shopping and bought a pair of jean capris, a skirt and a top. it was hard to buy only one top seeing that i tried on a billion and many of them i liked. but one must reign oneself in at times like this. when i was leaving i noticed some cute bathing suits. i need a new bathing suit. my bathing suit must be somewhere near 7 years old. karey would know for sure. i know that sounds weird but karey knows weird things sometimes. it's just the way she is. the thing is, i don't think when one is putting on one's suit that one should be able to accidently put one's leg through a hole that is not the leg hole. i don't think that's right. two leg holes are plenty. anyways the thing i liked about these suits was that they were not granny suits. i don't want a granny suit. i want a fun cute comfy suit. i wonder if that's possible. so anyways next paycheck i'll do the suit thing.
before i went shopping i dropped my film off. an hour and fifteen minutes she was not ready. she requested fifteen more minutes. i went to my car and listened to bob dylan and took unflattering pictures of myself to pass the time. this is one of them:

i think i look smart.
it was six thirty by the time i was on my bike riding home. traffic was so much better at six thirty than at four. i examined my shadow as i rode. i listened to some mason jennings and some dan bern. waved to nikolas ("the russian" as gerta calls him) as i passed him just by our apartment.
i ate peanut butter and honey and peanut butter and pickle toast. duty bound to finish off the bread as soon as possible. elicia made a pact with me that she would remind and encourage me to eat my broccoli. i've thrown away at least three or four heads of broccoli over the past months. eating the broccoli might be a better idea.
we went for a walk with elena. i suggested the industrial area under the bridge. there's lots of cool pictures to be taken down there. elena said it was creepy. she said it was the kind of place one could get murdered or commit any number of crimes. some day i'll bring old paps and a tripod down there. in the meantime pinklet documented some rather disturbing faces of the hack sisters.

this one is called despair.
