a fortnight minus 13 days until my birthday!

i had a great birthday eve.

leif and i went to de dutch pannekeok house for breakfast. i hadn't been there since i think the last birthday i had that leif was around for. i had the abby perogie. ukranian dutch as leif pointed out. i just love that one and i thank sarah-lynn elizabeth for discovering it. he had the canadian, which was fried eggs and bacon on the pannekoek with maple syrup. he was iffy about syrup and bacon but i told him it was good and so it was. like a sweet ham said leif.

then after lunch heather and i took a jaunt out to the lions gate bridge (amy you were supposed to be here for this!) and walked over it and back. yeah, we walked to west vancouver. i've been wanting to walk over that bridge (my favourite bridge) for a long long time and what better day to do it, than my birthday eve? it took us three hours to walk there and back because of all the picture taking. it was so fun. i took four rolls of film! PLUS pinklet pictures. the gap between where the sidewalk ended and the railing started freaked me out though. that was the worst. if i reached out my arm and grabbed the bars and brought myself close so i couldnt' see the gap, but looked over the top, i was fine. but sometimes i was trying to take pictures through the gap and that made me have fear twinges in my legs. and when the railing was behind me and i was pointing my camera straight up at the towers and i could feel the bounce bounce of the bridge from the trucks and buses. that made me feel a little queesy too, but i asked heather to stand behind me when i was taking those shots and then i felt totally fine. i'm weird i don't like turning my back to stairs either. even if i'm not moving. UNSAFE UNSAFE alarms go off in my head.

anyways it was super fun. the only thing that would have been better would be if it was early morning light or evening light, but that just means a return trip.

we had donairs for supper and then watched persuasion. heather, who is a stickler didn't like some of the changes. i didn't mind the changes. i still felt the tension. and i just think it was really well done.

heather's so short and cute.

i don't even know how this picture turned out this way. i didn't do any editing to it, but gee i kinda like it.

good ol' reflection in the glasses shot.

under the bridge on the north shore side. there's a sewage plant on one side and a reservation on the other. we saw black stuff pouring into a huge vat and steam rising. heather imagined it was poo and turned away trying not to retch. i took pictures.

this love board was fastened to the side of the bridge and i don't know why but i took a shine to it as you'll see.
