february 10th--return of the barn owls.

morning came soon. we all had showers in case you're curious about that. bethany forgot her church shoes and was sadly disappointed in learning that her expectation of me providing a spare was in fact a false expectation. she now knows all too well that i am blessed with but one pair of church shoes for all seasons. she said she was going to wear my polk dot booties instead but her resolve to do so seemed weakened when it came down to leaving out the front door. luckily leesh had a pair of flip flops she made due with.

church was good. i don't remember much about it except there were good talks and that there was a new guy from portugal. i was really taken by the way he said his name "manuel" and i kept repeating it for the next several days. oh yah! and during sunday school i was asked to help with the sunbeams during the last hour because one of the teachers was away. i found out after arriving in the class that sung he (i'm not sure how to spell her name) was the teacher. she's the wife of my home teacher, chan. the kids in this class are hilarious and very busy. austin kept standing on the chairs and jumping and he liked to talk about the dresses he likes to wear. shawn was nervous about me at first i think. it was chas's first day back after his surgery and his first day in sunbeams. he sucked his thumb sometimes, but he was good. nara, sung he's daughter was also pretty calm. she liked to keep order in the class. there wasn't much of that during our short lesson. none of the kids seemed to be able to keep their bums on their chairs. but things calmed down when we began to colour. i got austin who is obsessed with pink to help me colour mine and when i said i need help that drew all the kids in. everyone wanted to help. that's a special thing about kids. anyways, i had fun and the time passed quickly.

after church bethany and i made tuna melts on cheese buns.

then we worked on the family story we started last summer at the family reunion. of course we left every other page for amy. amy's got some catching up to do, if you know what i mean. we got as far as the twins and that's where i stopped. i even did myself but i didn't spend much time on it. this is one of those projects that is started with great gusto and then it's a struggle not to let it fizzle out in the end.

we decided to go back to the park before dropping bethany off at the ferry. elicia came too, but heather missed our call. it was a beautiful day. we were going to the world wide leadership after so i put on jean capris under my skirt, then took off my skirt once we got there. this time i brought my binocs and my manual slr camera. i handed bethany pinklet to do with what she would. i felt so happy just to be there.

this was her first picture. my dusty croc look alike.

i like this one that she took. it's one of my faves.

leesh was busy with her camera too. we didn't progress very fast. everyone was busy peppering the landscape with photos.

elicia took this one.

a man with two beautiful dogs took a picture of the three of us. if you click on this pic you will see the way the sun lights up half our faces. i just noticed how i'm pink between two blackies.

bethany documented the garbage can and the lowering sun's light upon it. and well she should.

i look like i'm pledging alligence or something.

bethany gave me the camera so i could take a pic of this.

from a different angle.

a bird from afar off.

bethknee herself. taken by herself.

she took this one too and i like it.

i can't remember if this was taken by elicia or bethany, but between the two of them all signs and garbage cans were well recorded.

me and leesh.

ugly faces.

leesh took this. my hair is glowing.

i really like this one of bephany-stephanie.

bethany's work again.

our friend the sunball.

we saw an owl! i like this picture bethany took. you have to click on this picture to see, but we're looking at the barn owl through the binocs. it's on that tree. it was so exciting.

i tried to get some shots of it, but i needed a tripod to reduce the shake, so they'll probably be blurry. one of my clicks was taken just as he flew off and met another barn owl in the sky. they flew a criss cross kind of dance in the sky.

hi, i've seen owls.

we both have.

bethany took this of me trotting down the path.

i took this of her and her glowing burnished locks. she was taking pictures of the waves of hay beds.

the series i like to call "elicia rounds the bend". i made her round the bend a couple of times until i liked what i saw.

she looks so girlish here. she's taking pictures of a little cloud of no see 'ems.

you have to click on THIS pic to see the glinting bed of reeds in the distance.

a closer up of them.

by the time we were at this point we had to hurry off again, so bethany wouldn't miss the ferry.

but i rebeliously stopped to take this.

in the car bethany documented her painting so amy could see it. this is the fat seagull.

the mountain tops with splarshes of light.

and the whole beauteous thing. she's pretty amazing that bethatintintin. it was nice to have her here and over too soon.
