a day full of sistergood (april 7)

we met at katies at eight to go for a run. the girls were up and hunting for their 68 easter eggs but they found 65-68 very quickly. then we left. katie did her weird shin splint exercises while we walked on our warm up. sarah was adamant that we not run to lantzville. katie has a gps thing that tracks where you are, where you go, what your pace is etc. and times your intervals. that day we did four minutes run, two minutes walk for an hour. katie also has a sporty hat and the complete runner's outfitting.

i made them stagger their heads for this shot.

by this point in the run i really lost momentum but i saw the cherry trees and i wanted a pic of katie and sarah with that in the background, so i had this burst of speed from behind them, which they thought was quite funny. anything for a shot.

i'm sorry if this scares you because it scares me too. sarah was trying to get a shot of me with my hair flowing but then i made this face. i feel brave/foolish for putting it on, but it is a face i do tend to make, and it should be documented. it's only right.

when we got back to katie's all i wanted to do was sit in a stupor, but katie wanted to strech and so did sarah. katie led them in the longest bout of streching i have ever witnessed. meanwhile i sat in my sweat on the couch leaving a wet mark that natalie later discovered with some disgust. after a while my stupor cleared and i started documenting the streching marathon. here are some shots from that series:

notice the discarded socks. that's no accident. they each purposely took off one sock all in the name of meaningful streching. this is when they are facing mecca.

sarah gave me a look that said "take my picture". so i did. as katie pointed out, she held her arms like a ballerina.

katie looking extremely yoga-ish in a way my body could not fathom.

sarah streches the upper flubs while simultaneously giving the take my picture look at exactly 10:04am.

meanwhile a huge school rat named oreo watched the whole thing. natalie told me to take a picture of him so i did.

i went home to see raccoon morphed back into kitty waiting impatiently at the front door demanding her breakfast. i had bran buds with strawberries and bananas and a blueberry bagel with low fat cream cheese. i had a shower, but what i really wanted to do was have a bath in the long deep soaker tub that mom and dad have in their new 'digs'. no time.

after showering was complete i drove over to sarah's and we got hair dye and then we went to katie's and we all went to coombs. on the way we listened to a tape of sarah's baptizim. it had gramma toner's talk on it and it felt so good to hear her voice again. i cried a little on hearing it. there was also a funny fhe where we all bickered and fought and i exploded on tape that my life was pathetic. i'm so glad i'm not 17 any more. meanwhile, katie drove us by her dream neighbourhood in parksville.

it was a short coombs visit because brent needed the van by a certain time for work. so we mainly had time to eat the cheese her breads (i got one with spinach and roasted red peppers this time and katie got the asaiago one) in big ripped hunks and wrap them around pieces of smoked salmon, (salmon in a blanket, i dubbed it) and buy some ice cream. i went out on a limb and bought chocolate peanutbutter and peanutbutter silk. heheh. then we did a quick run throuh of the store and had to leave again.

when we got back to katie's and brent took the van, we didn't go inside, we stayed outside and that's when michealah and sarah started in on the skip-its. this is michealah looking so grown up and beautiful.

and here's a drive by of natalie showing us her cycling 'skills'.

first sarah did it backwards and whacked herself in the leg with the skip-it. it was funny to watch. but then it all started coming back to her. here's aunt and niece doing the skip-it together.

the joy of the skip-it experience.

then sarah decided to master the skip-it backwards.

and adriel and i hung out just being cute together.

then suddenly i was tired and went home and i napped on the couch companionably with dad as he watched the habs game. all i knew is that the habs were ahead and then things went downhill becauase after that i was sleeping and i was only aware of being cold and tired.

i woke up around eight, had a bowl of ice cream and headed over to katie's for sister movie night. sarah was already there and was dying elicia's hair. we watched double jepordy which i hadn't seen in a long time, but wanted to. my favourite part is the ferry scene.

when i got home dad was watching the natural, so i watched it with him. amy still hadn't arrived much to my disappointment. and then i went to bed. that was the end of the sistergood day.
