mom's here
it was kind of a blah day at work. i was tired and in the thrift store and i didn't do much in there. i sorted through some bags and that's about it. there wasn't even anything interesting. however there was some gross things like bags full of stained clothing and at the bottom i discovered dirty underwear. when i see the dirty underwear, i'm like that's it. that's the last straw and i throw the whole rest of the bag away. i'm not paid enough, i say out loud in disgust and kick the bag with my toe. i mean, what's wrong with people? why don't they just throw their garbage away? what makes them think we want it? ewwwwwwwwww!
lisa came in a couple of times to talk to me. i think she missed me. that's what i like to tell myself anyways. she burnt her finger tips on a pot handle. after 2:15 i got kaz to close for me and went to the kitchen office and we pretended we were having a meeting and closed the office door and ate ice cream and chocolate sauce. the funny thing is that it wasn't actually that good or satisfying.
i came home and had a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong nap. well actually i watched a cary grant movie first. it was with katherine hepburn. they were very earnest and dramatic. i liked his two friends though. they were funny. i've seen the guy actor before, but i dont' know who he was. so then i went to my bed and had a looooooooooong nap. i've been having a lot of naps lately. i've been nap prone.
i did the dishes in preparation of mom's arrival and when elicia got home she did the floors. she seemed really really tired.
mom's ferry was late, but she let me know, so i didn't arrive too early. it was a surprise to see esther and tania walking out with her. it was the first time i saw tania since december 4th where i saw her briefly at the festival of nativities. it was kind of awkward but oh well. so mom and i had a good talk on the way back and i filled her in on my happenings, the cops, the ultra sound and other things too. we stopped at subway because i hadn't eaten and the guy gave me an extra cookie just like my old friend azzim used to. this guy pretended he didn't know how cut the bread the old way, but i confidently told him it was like a "u" and then he did it very expertly causing me to exclaim "you know how!" . er... he said that's a really old way, and you still remember it? i'm a traditionalist was my reply. i mean i've been having the same sandwich for around six years now. when i got in the car and told mom that he gave me an extra cookie she said "were you flirting with him?" haha. no, i said, it's probably just late and he wants to get rid of the cookies. either that or he went to the school of azzim, i thought to myself. bethany really likes subway mom commented as we drove off. and so does dad. me too, i agreed. i'd rather go there than almost any other fast food place.
mom and i were almost home when i discovered that she did not take her customary ziplock baggie of red river cereal with her for breakfast. she dind't want heavy luggage she explained. ya, those little baggies really tend to put it over the top i laughed. but her bag was really small. so we turned and went to safeway so she could buy a banana and some prune juice.
when we came home we sat and talked while i ate and now mom is going to bed. and i'm going to look inside the garbage bag of yarn that kathy kelly has given me.
