a week of pictures:

february 13th pic. a lone duck swimming in the river at the sunset.

february 14th: a rainy valentine's day

heather uses rothco to shield her 2000 parts.

on my way to safeway to buy smokes for aunt flow, i saw this tree's roots and the banana peel and i liked it, so i took a click. it's the way i roll.

my destination loomed ahead.

thursday night after er (feb 15th), i still had no pic. and i had had a nap. and worked late the next day. so i went out clicking. i cannot tell you how many times i took a picture of this grocery cart and it's shadow. and in the end it's just a cart and it's shadow.

i was headed home empty handed when i took this picture and liked it even though i'm in it. can you see the stars?

friday night after work i went with elcia to take out the garbage and for her to get something from her car. "why are you coming with me?" asked elicia suspiciously. "in case i can find a picture of the day." i told her. "you're wearing bare feet???" she asked increduously. "yeh." i shrugged. "eeww..." exclaimed elicia enumerating nasty things to be found on the ground outside, including dog pee. i shrugged again and this picture of my footprints was the one and only picture taken for feb 16th.

the view from our bench at granville island. i like how you can see the people inside and the reflection of the buildings on the glass.

this is my shot of the burrard street bridge. i like to be subtle...

this little boy was listneing to the french guy sing. i liked his big puffy hat sitting high on his forehead. he was swinging his feet too, i think.

the bakery where i bought something called praline. it was a round little 'cake' covered in chocolate and made up of wafers and in between the wafers was hazelnut type chocolate. it was soooo good. i ate it while we listened to the french guy sing. we tried to pick out the words we knew like fish and mouth and then we'd laugh to each other.

byron from england (hurray!) was there. anyone remember him? the guy who wraps himself up in a straight jacket and chains? he was funny, if not a little crude. he embarrassed two guyes from Bellingham. one was pretty cute.
granville street bridge from below.

ceramics that i shouldn't have taken a picture of but which i did sneakily. in this store there was beautiful ceramic jewelry if you can believe it. pic of the day feb 17

a self portrait. this proves that i really was there

after granville island, heather and i parted ways. she was going to see casino royale with chandra and randy, and i was going to the symphony with steve because i love rachmaninov piano concertos. before the symphony started steve was hungry so he ate at subway and i decided to document the experience. so i said "can i take your picture with the sub?"

and he made this face. "that makes you look like you have a lazy eye." i said and took another.

and he does this.

and so i took one more. "i can't look at you!" whine steve. hahahahahahahaha. i laughed and laughed and laughed. "i'm putting this on my blog." i warned. and so i am.

and this was a candid. it's my favourite.

i took these pictures of the orpheum and the orchestra during intermission, annoying the lady and her husband who were sitting beside me.
i like how i captured the lone violinist at the bottom corner.
that's mark fewer the number 1 violinist and the guy in charge of the 'band' :) . he's making sure everyone's on tune.

the backs of the violinists. my view.

feb 18 pic of the day, karey's pea pod plant on the sill.

hungry cats hoping i'm there to feed them.
