awkward elbows

elicia and i went to choir today. i've been wanting to join our ward choir since march when i joined this ward, but i needed someone to come with me. i needed a buddy. a choir buddy. it may seem arrogant of me, but i wanted to join because i saw how small and dismal it was. it was the first choir i saw where the women were being overpowered by the men and the sopranos by the altos. well volume is an area i can contribute in. if i can do one thing in singing, i can turn it up a notch or two. anyways, i just love being in choir.

sister sarah funk is the choir director. she sure does a lot of teaching. all in our one session she went over how to breathe, how to hold your book and sing over it and look at the line and at the director at the same time, how to say your vowells... she said the sweet sisters needed to project their voices like when they yell, not that they ever yell. haha.

we sang this song that i don't know. it's kind of pretty but unfortunately it has a high f, and high e's are the end of my range. and it isn't a fast song either. slow and and so sure not to find the f. oh well. i have to live with my limitations, which in singing are very great.

elicia just got a new flute and to warm up she was playing hymns and i sang along. then i starting singing in swedish. i miss swedish speaking so much. i miss hearing it and thinking in it.

we invited heather over for dinner again and i made a yummy squash with brown sugar and butter. elicia offered chicken breasts marianated in honey garlic sauce and spinnach and home made applesauce. heather brought a fruit salad but we never ate it.

time for a stroll...
