anderson cooper's mom is gloria vanderbilt
it's only tuesday today (for those of you who didn't know, this could have come as quite a shock, as it did to me) and i could have sworn that tomrrow is thursday, not wednesday. well that's life, and myles watson would say.
yesterday i bought master and commander at save-on for only 9.99, so i watched last night after i got off the hook with heather. i was going to go visiting teaching with heather, but sara cancelled letting us off the hook. "good," i thought, "then i can watch master and commander!" and i did. i like that movie. i like the slate blue ocean lighting, i like the friendship between the doctor and the captain. i like the galapagos and the naturalist bits. i like the theme of sacrifice, i like the heart breaking courage of the little boys. i love the cello and the violin parts.
elicia just talked to me for the umpteenth time about cat food. this is one of our favourite topics. we discuss the inns and outs of dry and wet food and when we should make a change so on and so forth. today elicia brought advice from her friend at work who has five cats, dogs, a horse and other sundry pets.
there's a new guy at work. we always seem to be training someone new. this guy is japanese. yesterday i was talking to him all about the japanese game shows i used to watch. i kept remembering more and more the more i talked about it. i'm sure it was boring for him, but it was a walk down memory lane for me.
i have to do laundry today or i'll be in a desperate way if you know what i mean.
the other day at work graham asked me why i have to have control of everything that's going on in the kitchen. today he said i was a perfectionist when i insisted he put salt in the pancake batter. "well excuse me for insisting that all the ingredients find their way into the batter!" i replied. then he started telling me about how he was writing his 21st article for our newsletter. "mmhmm... prolific writer..." those are my parts to say. then once in a while i call him "hammy" or "gray-ham" and he bugs his eyes out and wags his finger at me saying "uh-uh-uh! i'll get you for that!" and that's his part of the play.
sometimes all i want to do is listen to music and play spider soletaire. is that bad?
