yesterday i wore my new green tanktop with a white T underneath. sarah agreed to do my hair yesterday. a dye job. i had to wait for mom to come home from her errands before i could go pick sarah-lynn elizabeth up. mom kept calling to say she would be later. i was getting bored so while talking to sarah on speaker phone, i decided to brush my hair out. sarah-lynn said it wasn't necessary and i was disapointed because i was bored. so because i was bored i did it anyways. it was fun to do. my hair went from slightly sleep depressed but distinctly formed curls to full out free floating frizz. i feathered it and 'fruffed' it out so that it was as wide as my shoulders are. it helped me pass the time quite enjoyably. sarah decided to walk down. "ya." i agreed. "take your belly out on the town." of course that is when mom showed up, so i got in the car and picked sarah up. she was almost here--had already passed bay street and that brought last christmas to mind when we had the whole sing on sugarloaf fiasco and sarah had started walking home but we decided to go after all and went to pick her up but passed her on the corner of bay and she running after us and yelling "i'm right here!" kyle came out and told us that we passed her when we got to their house. haha that was so funny! when sarah got into the car she brought up the same thing. when i looked at myself in the rearview mirror my hair took up the whole thing. sarah laughed at it, as was right. i showed her what feathered hair looked like because the era of the feather was when she was a baby and before. we talked about her vision for my hair on the way to the hairdresser supply store. her vision was light blonde honey blond and a brown. i was in. we had some quiet moments in which we realized what kind of music mom was listening to in her car. an instrumental version of follow the prophet was playing and it had quite the arabian/egyptian feel to it. we both stopped and had a simultaneous laugh when we noticed it at the same time. every song had funny instrumentals in it and caused us some mirth. when we got inside sarah told me that kyle shared her shampoo and conditioner because he loved the smell. smell is the most important factor in hair product when it came to kyle. that's our kylie smilie. she chose pomegranite for them. i needed a new conditioner and she was going to show me what katie got but found out that they no longer carry the two lines katie perfers. however you all will be glad to know that i found some biolage conditioning balm and my hair liked it. goodbye to the orgainic build up stuff. hello balmy balm for my locks. next was the business of picking out the colours. i said i wanted the mauve. i said it would match sarah's shirt. "yah," she piped up "we could cut a lock off and i could tape it to my shirt." we found ourselves very funny. still do. still do. so the process of chosing the colour was complicated and i left it to sarah. she said the brown we picked out (which i thought was dark) was warm and had a hint of red in it. we were done our business and went out to the car. then we noted for the second time the bubble tea place beside the hair place. sarah had remarked that she's never had bubble tea and so i remembered and said "hey! aren't we getting a bubble tea?" sarah said a surprised and pleased "oh yeah!" and so we got out of mom's car and headed for the place that promised "the best bubble tea". it was weird inside. it had a couch and some tables and chairs and beads hanging on strings from the ceiling and a few arcade games. it seemed like a bubble tea place made up from someone's house almost. there was some people sitting on the couch when we got there. i thought they'd have menu on the wall and you stand at the counter and order, but there was no such menu. she gave us some menus and showed us to a little round plastic table. there were a lot of pages in the menu and a lot of rules at this place. you can't get those flavours in slushee and you can't mix those ones because it wouldn't taste good and so on. the fresh fruit ones weren't slushie but they weren't milky either. they were in between. she recommended the watermelon and we both got it. watermelon was a good choice. it was really flavourful and yummy and the pearl was fresh and soft. i thought it was going to be five dollars each and was counting out my change and piling it on the table. sarah added some coins to mix but then she told us the price and we had more than enough so we snatched back our excess piles paid and left with our watermelon bubble teas. had more amusement at the expense of primary instumentals on the way back to mudsie's. mom was napping. she woke up mid foiling and was none too talkitive despite our attempts at engaging her attention. it turned out the brown wasn't brown but red. we were tricked but we liked the result despite and perhaps because of said trickery. i looped my hair and sarah blowdried. sarah decided to come with me to katie's. sarah got an earful from kyle shortly after arriving at katie's. brent was a stickler on the point that kyle should have answered his phone. too true. he didn't. kyle picked sarah up and katie and i went off on errands at the mall. i collected a juicy tube for lisa to replace the one she kindly loaned me before i left for nanaimo sans purse. katie mailed a letter at shoppers. i tried to show her the red earth lip gloss like the new one i had aquired earlier in the week but the lady told us that was only at the country club shoppers. we passed aroma essence and i went in to look for a diffuser. there were some interesting ones, but not the one that i wanted. i may never find it. the truth is and i'm not that ashamed to admit that i want one like fatima's. but there are none like hers. anyways we found that they sell a lot of essential oils which i didn't know, and have a mixing station and everything. we bought a empty roller tube for katie because she liked the scent i made for myself on thrusday. then we headed to wallmart and bought a white ribbon for michealah's baptizim dress (sarah's flowergirl dress for dough and del's wedding) and some spray and starch for the same dress and then to save-on for treats for the baptizim and treats for us. we thought brent would enjoy tuxedo cake because brent is a champion of tuxedo cake. we also purchased two bags of kernel popcorn in the mall. double dipped caramel and love potion. we were sure that the popcorn and the cake would make brent happy. after all that we stopped at the video store for a video. we got yours mine ours , i think it's called. i bought cinderlla man and phantom of the opra from the previously viewed bin. both were only 9.95. not a bad deal. when we got home we found that we were 'eagerly' awaited. not long after we had lasagne and garlic bread and some popcorn for dessert. when the kids went to bed we went to watch our movie and found that it was wallace and grommit. so back to the movie rental place. finally we watched and katie starched. it took her almost the whole movie! she had to even starch the ruffles and the skirt was very volumnuous. brent proved indifferent to our treats. we hardly made a dent in the popcorn but we did our best with the cake which was sooo good. especially the cream cheese layer. brent had slept through the movie and after it was over went up to bed. we talked for a while about things. about katie's feelings about teaching in relief society and stuff. one thing about katie is that she has no idea how great she is and how much good she does. she's always been the kind of sister i could rely on, she always supported me and always had a 'plan' for me to help me with whatever i needed. she's the kind of sister that quietly rides behind you on bike trips and gives you pushes to help you pull your heavy load and takes the load herself without complaining through lots of long hard stretches. she was my fist sister friend the first one i shared crazy laughing silly times with and the first one i stayed up late with talking in bed. i can see why heavenly father chose her for lots of the callings. she's the kind of person he can use.
