easter monday--it was a good day. a calm nice day with time spent together. sarah came over and did amy's hair, plucked bethany's eyebrows and put mine up. i walked through mom's garden with her and we talked about all her little gems of beauty. we all gorged, by slivers at a time, on mom's moist carrot cake. dad and sarah and i worked on crosswords intermittently. (i've been crossword crazy lately). we drove up to rock city and played bacci together. this was a small miracle, getting dad and mom and the twins as well as sarah and i together and out of the house. but we did it and we had a fun time. mom rolled her ball once and said "oops. slipsies." haha. bethany and amay had to leave early to go to bob's with bethany's laptop. bethany was on our team and amay was on mom and dad's. the ground was wet and squelchy on the rock city field but bethany would do her granny roll right up to the palini and mom would say "beth! you have a talent for this!" and amay would yelp (yes yelp amay) "hey! i have a talent!" after they left sarah it was back and forth but in the end sarah and i won by a point or something like that. on the ride back home dad couldn't help but say that if the ground was flat and dry things would be different, but sarah and i defended the bumpy squelchy ground. we prefer a game with some twist and turn to it. after we all got flame thrower burgers at dairy queen except mom, who got the crispy chicken, and sarah who had to go home to hubby. i couldn't believe how full i was after the burger until i realized that it as a quarter pounder. ugh. all i ever usually get is the little kind. quarter pound is too much. i read to kill a mocking bird during the ferry ride home. the glipses of the journey i saw when i looked up was beautiful. the setting of the sun time is a good time to be on the ferry.
