i woke up at 8:30 this morning and read some swedish scriptures in bed. then i put another load of laundry on and put all my laundry away. even all the stuff on my chair. my room is seriously out of control and i'm trying to get a handle on it.

i'm into crosswords right now. i worked on them in the car in all our travels today. you see, scott o. picked me and sarita and heather up a little after ten thirty. i sat in the back at the right window with my book and my crossword and was quite content for quite some time. we picked up randy in richmond.

at the border everyone was acting quite fussy. i never feel that way myself, but i try to endure other's fusses. there was something said about sunglasses and i commented that they'd ask us to take them off. randy said "it's better that they don't have to ask." whatever i shrugged inside, and looked for the three letter word for 'turf', which happens to be 'sod' by the way. they were reluctant to say we were going to bellingham for mexican food. they thought that was liable to have us pulled over for some odd reason. instead they went with shopping, which we did as well.

we looked around ross. randy explained that ross was an american's winners. he said this a couple of times. after we were in the store for a while we all met up again and found sarita (the last one found) where heather said she would be, in the shoe section. the first thing sarita says to us was "this is just an american winners!" that is a classic sarita non listening moment.

we walked across the street to the mexican restaurant. it was my idea to walk, i didn't want to get all crammed up in the car again. scott said we were doing a very unamerican thing.

the food was good. the chairs were colourful and had woven bottoms. kind of surprises you when you sit down. the lady told me to get the half size and boy was she right. HUGE portions. i still couldn't eat all of it.

we went to the outlet mall at burlington and i bought a skirt at the gap. i really wanted two of them but was limited to one. it was a really hard choice. we shopped around. randy discovered last night when fox and amy gave him a shirt that he is no longer xl, but only L. he therefore experimented with that size. heather took him under her wing and directed his shopping. i could hear her bossing while i deliberated over my skirts in the changeroom. "what do you mean?" she said. "you ARE getting these jeans." :)

me and sarita and scott were walking over to barb's store or as other's know it, eddie bauer, and we saw a maiden form store. we commented on it prompting scott's lecture. he said "that's reality." "what?" i asked. "that's reality. you need a bra and it's nothing to be ashamed of." haha. but shame and bras are so interconnected! i said "ya sarita, it's reality. you don't need to be ashamed." she just laughed.

heather's plan was to go to costco and get a nut bar. according to her and she's probably right, you can only get nut bars in the states at costco hotdog/pizza stands. heather has been dreaming of the nut bar for a long time, so we went to costco just for that purpose. at first we thought they didn't have them and foul weather was threatening on heather's face when randy said we weren't going to another costco. "ok, maybe we are." he said with one look at the storms gathering. luckily we were spared another costco trip because they had them. a nut bar is a dove icecream bar dipped in chocolate before your eyes and then burried in almonds. delicous, but heavy to hold and work to eat. some work is more pleasant than others if you know what i mean.

we all squished in the car again and drove the 20 minutes back to bellingham to go to walmart. randy some how managed to get in between heather and i. very close quarters. heather insisted on getting her seatbelt and randy accused her of being fresh with him. i left mine.

i stayed in the car at walmart. had enough of shopping. i did crossword and snoozed until they all returned.

trip back was uneventful. the was a beautiful sunset over the water. it felt good to be back on home turf (or sod or whathaveyou). we dropped randy off and picked up harry potter and the corpse bride. scott stayed for some of harry potter but kept falling asleep and left. and that was my day today.
