Laura Linney we're going to be skinny

i've joined a gym. i pretty excited about it. lisa and i are going together every day before work. lisa calls me laura linney and the title of this post is an exact quote from her. it's become our motto. i went for the first time on saturday and tomorrow is my first early morning con lisa.

i had a busy eventful week. tuesday was lisa's birthday eve and we took her out for dinner, had a girl's night out if you will. afterwards i rushed out to walmart to buy lisa's present. i got her memoirs of a geisha and necklace earring combo. then i came home and proceeded to make a cover for the book out of my japanse print oragami paper. i did this because of a conversation i had with lisa earlier. we both agreed that we disliked books with pictures on the cover that come from the major motion picture made about it, and this book's cover was her entire face. it looked kind of cool in the end. then i made her a sugar scrub, packed it all up and was done with it.

monday i had a tour of the gym.

wednesday i went to lisa's to help her with a computer transaction. computer transactions are not her forte and i'm happy to oblige. we watched oprah and napped during ellen.

thursday i visited gramma b at the hospital. i didn't feel very useful or comforting. most of the time i just sat there. i can tell it's very hard for her to be that incapacitated. i promised to bring some tapioca pudding next time. mom said she had been asking for it. i got home in the middle of survivor and i thought it was a poor choice they made in the end. i also thought the older women's team needed much more support such as underwire would afford.

friday karey barb and i ate at boston pizza. i had a perogie pizza on jordan's recommendation and it was a tasty morsel indeed. after dinner we headed over to the movies in high spirits and watched glory road. we were almost the only ones in the theatre, and were the only ones to laugh and so on. i also cheered out loud at one point, but it couldn't be helped. it was the cheering type of movie. back at barb's we played rook with nikki and randy and karey fell asleep to an awful movie with matthew brodderick and meg ryan in it. ugh.

saturday first got bcaa to change my tire (completely and utterly flat) and then i went to the gym and had the personal trainer girl (naiomi) make me up a work-out. then i worked out. it was good. good. then i went to fountain tire, dropped off the car, and ate by myself at a japanese place and had just arrived at chapters when they called to say the car was done. later that day i watched one flew over the cuckoo's nest which was many things. it had too much swearing for me, besides that it was sweet and funny and thought provoking and disturbing and frustrating. i liked the chief until the end. then i don't know how i felt about him. that he's crazy i guess. then i had a nap. i woke up with red eyes. i wandered into the livingroom and watched the end of seabiscuit. karey was sleeping to it as is her wont. she woke up and we all watched red eye together. there was this one part when i knew something was coming and i didn't want to see it so i got up to go to the bathroom and heather insisted on pausing it. arg! but i gave in and watched it and screamed bloody murder when it came. then everyone went to bed and i began to clean my room. and organize it. and i finished by three in the morning.

today was fast sunday and a steady even one. karey and i met a new guy. he seems nice. i think we'll set elicia up with him. she seems to have an inquiring mind about him if you know what i mean. after ces and girl roommate chats and much discussion about how i could change around my room, i watched bleak house and it is very very very good. i need to have it and to read it. need to.

and now to bed.
