The Lord's Day

good sabbath! reasons i look forward to sundays, to the sabbath day, the Lord's day:
1.) the chance to be edified. i often feel like i really need some edification by the time my week is over. i get bogged down and confused and i need some lifting up and nourishment of the good word of God to give me clarity again, to bolster me for the week ahead. sunday is a day i can devote lots of time to edifying myself and worshiping at home and at church. sunday is a day where i have the chance to realign myself with God. to hear the answers to my prayers of the week.
2.)the opportunity to be cleansed. i've had a week of stumblings and maybe heart aches and i feel worn down and weary and besmirched by the world. this is my chance to take the sacrament and be cleansed, renewed and refreshed. to be born again.

those are my hopes today about the sabbath day before me.

today i read 2Nephi 9. it's such a good chapter. i once described it as full of doctrine and worship and imploring. i said it was perfect. that's the year when i took from june to october to study it. i went verse by verse and reflected and delved and did long trains of connecting scriptures and thoughts and wrote it all down, scriptures thoughts questions testimony and all. those were lovely days of study. i've just reread some of them. good stuff, good stuff.
