Hefty Day part II

karey was kind to me and let me sit on the outside seat again. she sat in between me and sarita. that's a good friend. it made me think of julia on the wedding singer and the song that adam sandler sings to her. except this is on a friend basis. anyways riding in the front is a rough ride. can be very jarring but it is super fun. and we eventually, after a few wrong turns, crossing and then crossing back, we found the whales. j-pod. it was so cool. there ws a mom and baby together and big male ones and we could hear their calls. so you find them and park your boat, amongst the other boats and boats to moniter all the boat traffic. we're all spread way out and the whales just swim by, and if you're lucky they swim close to you, and then you circle way out and wait for them again. it's just so amazing to me that they are there in our waters, and that they're actually real. they've always seemed sort of mystical to me.

when we finally got back into harbour, we were whale fulfilled. we were also tired and hungry, which made for some snappish moments between karey and i until we got our fill of pajo's fish and chips. yum. we looked a few stores in steveston and i bought dead man walking from a used book store.

when we got home i thought i would watch the swedish movie, but i started and i was too tired. it's not often that i'm too tired for a movie. so i went to my room and fell into a deep deep sleep. that was around 3 and i woke up at 5. this was the beginning of the next part of the oversize day. i got directions from fatima to her aunt's house, had a quick shower, got dressed up in my only non-hot dress up outfit and took off for surrey. more to come.
