you could be swingin on a star

i've had a good week so far. i'm on some sort of high, and i don't wanna come down. i think it all started with the time out for wheemen conference in seattle. then carmina burana on monday, and early morning walk runs all week. it's a good start to a week and a good start to a day. work has been going really well too, because i have lots of energy and am so cheerful all day. basically i'm a joy to be around. :) i've been doing the daily bulletin all week. what's the daily bulletin you ask? good question. you'll get top marks. the daily is read in our morning meeting when all the units come together. it has updates from all the units and announcements and thought of the day, meetings, staff whereabouts, and birthdays. well it was something implimented after we got back from salt lake. it's what they do there and it's good, so it was part of our action plan. it can promote unity and togetherness, something we need. so anyways every unit took a week to be the ones doing the bulletin. and i was very disappointed with the results. not very much effort or imagination, and a dreary ho-hum meeting ensued. people couldn't wait to get out of there and back to their units. you could tell they weren't even listening. but i had a vision of what it could be, so when it was finally our turn to do the daily, i did it. i prepared it the night before and i went around every day to talk to people in each unit and pump them for stuff to put in it. i added my own special humour and made it more fun, and i must say the result was quite good. people were smiling laughing and clapping during the meeting and actually paid attention to what was being said. and frankly it made me feel good. maybe i can make a difference. as laura ingalls wilder once said "i'm a woman! a WOMAN!!" anyways, i got my bonus today and then went promptly out and spent almost a hundred bucks on hair products from aveda. i like them. not only do they have quality products with natural ingredients, they give you water or tea while you shop. they're friendly and helpful but not pushy and invasive. the kind i like. i've been listening to an edgy version of vivaldi's four seasons since monday. steve said you can tell it's edgy by the bullet going through the violin on the cover of the cd. ya that's a good hint. it is quite edgy, and i really like it. i must say though, i was expecting the seasons to last a little longer. i like all of spring and especially the slow part in summer. i know i like some of the autumn and some of the winter, but i haven't had a chance to pay full attention to those ones. and now i'm doin the laundry.
