jiggedy-jig

i'm home. home. home is a word i savour. i stepped off the plane today (a tiny plane, by the way, the kind that you have to exit into the big wide open) and breathed a big breath of home. minutes before i had been greeting ocean sky and mountain, my old beloveds, with my head plastered to the plane window, trying to see all i could see. the view of our coast from that high is breath-taking and it made me feel grateful and it made me want to live in the sky. i just had a joyous thought--pure water! oh green cup my old friend. water. water in the air, water in the earth, on my skin, in my hair, sliding down my throat. i missed water.

stephen picked me up from the airport today, yesterday, whenever. i got to see all his new purchases. my favourite by far was his book of mormon. it was a special one, and i want one. however, i was also quite impressed with his new grill. a hamilton grill, i believe, and the cool thing about it is that you can take the trays out and clean them, a maneuver you cannot do with the george forman grill, which i just happen to own and not use. i left steve's early because it was leashy-loo's birthday yesterday/today. i ended up picking up tanya, the sister-in-law of my brother who now lives in town. i think sister-in-law of my brother is a good easy simple title. i plan on using it often. anyways karey phoned me and told me that she needed a ride, and she was down town, so i headed down that way and phoned her on my cell, i was confused as to why she was whispering when she answered. i found out her general location and said i'd phone back when i got closer. on reaching the downtown core, i phoned back and was more confused when she didn't answer. i phoned back again and she answered, but she was whispering again, and there was loud talking, and suddenly i put her previous vague, description "i'm on granville... by sears... by a movie theatre" together. "are you watching a movie??!" i asked incredulously? she laughed. she was in a theatre! meanwhile i had called her three times not knowing. and she answered! she was with some friends from school and just up and left in the middle of the movie. meet the fockers. then i got lost going the wrong way on hastings, but in the end it all turned out alright. we had lots of fun. i did anyways. so much needed reconnecting. it's all about connections for me these days. leash and christine were sharing their birthday celebration with me, karey, randy, sarita, linda, chandra, nikki, tanya and vicki. good friends, good laughs, a tiny mexican cafe that closes at eight oh clock and makes one plate at a time. after dinner we continued our hilarities at chandra's.
points worthy of mention:
1. tanya changing her shirt in my front seat as i drove.
2. tanya saying "i watched the f*****s!" all exuberantly into shocked silence. she meant to say 'the fockers'. some people, like karey and i, laughed so long and so hard and others, like chandra just seemed mildly uncomfy. the thing is, she kept repeating it. " i meant the f******!" oh boy.
3. ....umm there are more but after telling those two, i can't think of them. plus i'm super tired because it's past one thirty in the morning. plus karey's falling asleep to sweet home alabama and at times it can be distracting. plus i'm looking forward to a wonderfull double-bed-fluffy-puffy-cozy-duvet-sleep.

to sum it all up, i had a wonderful time away with lots of adventures and new experiences and new places, met some good people, made some friends, finally tried swordfish, but at the expense of catfish, but missed home and glad to be back. night.
