i'm thankful for fridays. i'm thankful for weekends. i'm thankful for my bed. i'm thankful for my fluffy duvet and my cozy sleeping pants. i know where i'm headed.
last night when i was changing in the bathroom a GIGANTIC silver fish squirmed blindly and agitatedly (yes it was) towards my discarded jeans, t-shirt and pink hoodie on the floor. alarm. i was in the middle of putting a leg into my 'sleeping pants', but this was no time for sleeping pants. this was a moment when a hero was needed. heros have to sacrifice, you know. so i scooped up my clothes just before the foul little creature touched them. silly silver fish trix are for kids! i didn't kill it though, but i would have liked it better if it was dead. this reminds me of syster petersen on my mission. we had a silver fish infestation in our dumpy little apartment. this was my first encounter with the little yuckies and they didn't make a good first impression. if you were the first to open the bathroom door in the mornings, five to ten silver fish would scurry in every direction. i would kill as many as i could before they squirmed away, but syster petersen would try to save them from me. she was a little wacky. she'd try to warn the fish and shoo them off towards the bathtub.
today was the branch christmas party and it was fun. wyatt and his new girl emily sat with barb and karey and i, and charolette and scott and jenny friesen sat with us too. the choir sang, much to our chagrin. we sang carol of the bells, and didn't sound that great, and the in excelcis gloria one and sounded better. selina played something from the nutcracker suite on the piano, and there was a spanish dance with three girls and a guy holding a manger, and the cello-violin combo and rachel (stephen's darling:) ) sang a cute song about the 12 days of christmas which included wringing the necks of the two turtle doves. i wasn't going to stay for the dance, but i ended up being in the mood. the mood to dance. this was the funnest dance we've had in a long time. we all just cut loose and had a crazy good time. basically i'm trying to say that i had fun. it was fun and i had fun. fire-dugh hung out with us a lot and he kept trying to dance like me, the little jerk. it was fun to dance with fox and the old gang and karey, christine, elicia and i were crazy cats, as elicia would say. we all had green and red tinsel in our hair and tied around our wrists. i tied some on the corners of christine's glasses. i liked the effect. i was proud. every time someone commented i pointed out that it was my idea and that i did it. giveme the credit man. frankly i can't tell this in an interesting way. i'm just too tired. i slow danced with justin and i found out he's going to byu idaho, starting january. i had no idea. then i told karey that jonathon was going to byu idaho, and she said "do you mean justin?" and i said "yes. i just said jonathon because he's dancing beside me and i thought he was dancing like justin". sleepy oh so sleepy.
