The peacemaking meeting scheduled for today has been canceled due to a conflict

saturday's 'events':
1. spent a couple of hours in the morning doing absolutely nothing.
2. broke free from chains to go for a run. it was a sunny, brisk, windy, glorious type morning. ankles were weak but the spirit was willing.
3. had a scare. nature of the scare: a white mini van barreling towards me in reverse. he was inches away when it became clear that he did not in fact see me and was going to ram me. this induced a simultaneous adrenaline rush and loud rapid repeats of horn honking behaviour. he stopped just when i thought it would be too late. just then jord-oh emerged from the hotel with his suit bag over his shoulder and a cheery smile on his cheeks. not a care in the world. meanwhile i had the shakes. said jord-oh "i did hear some honking when i was coming down the stairs..."
4. en route to horseshoe bay jord-oats-and-beans-and-barley-grow and i discussed the appropriate usage of the word 'module'. he said in the financial planner world, chapter is not understood. it's module. it's all module these days. i said the word was unpleasant. to which he said i was pedantic, but i pointed out that dough was pedantic, not i.
5. returned to my home to find myself locked out of it. elicia's car was there but i found she wasn't after knocking on the door, her window, calling her through the open bathroom window and finally on her cell. she was on the BUS going to meet sarita to watch the grudge. elicia who is quite the scardy cat was going to watch the grudge because that's how much she wanted to hang out with sarita. don't know if i would do that. luckily for me mrs. mattu actually heard me knocking on her door and gave me her extra key to use. she said she locks herself out all the time.
6. made pumpkin sugar cookies and pasted faces on tiny pumpkins with angus and karelia at their friend thomas' house. thomas is going through a major hugging phase. he kept chasing angus and karelia and hugging them with all his might, not letting go. they just went on with their business of playing as best they could with little thomas attached to them. felt bad for ruth who is alergic to cats and thomas has a cat named mcduff. very beautiful cat actually. at least that's what he looked like through the sliding glass door where he stayed the whole time pawing at it and meyowing pitifully. mcduff's absence from inside didn't save ruth from extreme itchiness in her ear canals and nasal passages. she was plagued.
7. karey, elicia and i were just about to leave for ribrageous at boston pizza when we got a prank phone call. karey answered. she hung up when the voice said "i'm a cop, you idiot." we scare easily on the phone because of yook experiences. it rang right after she hung up, so i answered it because i am always the one to handle these things. so some far away voice said something i couldn't quite understand and i said "can i help you?" in my cold business like voice. so it turned out to be fox. he was playing arnold schwartzenager quotes. so we invited him along. it was nice to hang with the fox again. we were talking about it. it reminded us of old times. except israel is missing. speaking of israel we were talking about him tonight and we remembered his mission song that we used to always get him to sing, and i'd join in in the chorus (to the tune of battle hymn) " love is always the tradition when we serve in this great mission--called the oregon eugene! where the air is nice and clean and the grass is always green." my fave part is shouting "called the oregon eugene!" and pumping my fist in the air.
8. fast forward to half an hour after ribrageous at blockbusters and a sudden enslaught of liquid bowel syndrome. fortunately an employee let me into a bathroom seconds before the explosion. UNfortunately the bathroom was a single room deal right off of the main room and the toxic smells and the great acoustics of the blockbusters toilet bowl made this a little too intimate. karey said she and elicia caught some of the show. but what did i care? at that moment i was in the throws of agony, but in the back of my mind i knew that somewhere out there karey was laughing. they chose raising helen. i chose miracle.
9. picked up pics from superstore. pics of whale watching, pics of thanksgiving, pics of steve and i at stanley park. some good, some funny some bad. did my usual three time over scrutiny.
10. cleaned the living room and went to bed.
eventful hu? i'll say.
this morning we watched the new restoration dvd. and then for fun i put on together forever while i knit. today was missionary sunday. three missionaries and fox were the speakers. there were two good things about it. #1. the musical number How Great thou art. suzy played the violin and joana, charlotte and amy played the cello. it was very nice. and #2. the last missionary's talk. the others were all pretty formula, but he was very passionate, from the heart, with confidence, and with the spirit. i liked it a lot. another new guy from toronto. maybe these new toronto guys know steve. maybe not. we had joint priesthood reliefsociety. jay taught. it was about priesthood. phil brought treats just for the sisters. adamantly refused any priesthood buddies to take any. christie king sang jesus savior pilot me for music appreciation. it was simple and good. decided to give choir another try, and liked it better. much less chaos and i'm starting to know the songs. had a visiting teaching dinner at my comp. kyla's house. she made 'stackable dinner'. basically this is rice with cheese and peas and tomatoe sauce 'stacked' on top. very interesting, but not too bad. had a funny game of pass the bomb after wards. donna was surprisingly good. we'd say things like exit and she'd say reflexology. me and her tied for first. when i got home karey and elicia were watching mulan. then i got karey to watch cinderella with me while i knit. it's a classic. and that's all the goods i got. isn't it enough?
