been lying listlessly on the couch reading the ensign. read some good stuff. one article was on how to build a lesson from the teachings of the prophets. i think i'm basically on the right track there. good to know. good to know. at least i'm on the right track once in a while. it's the june ensign and the visiting teaching message was on charity. i liked the quote by Marvin J. Ashton. here it is: "Real charity is not something you give away; it is something that you acquire and make a part of yourself. And when the virtue of charity becomes implanted in your heart, you are never the same again... Perhaps the greatest charity comes when we are kind to each other, when we don't judge or categorize someone else, when we simply give each other the benefit of the doubt or remain quiet. Charity is accpeting someone's differences, weaknesses, and shortcomings; having patience with someone who has let us down or resisiting the impulse to become offended when someon doesn't handle something the way we might have hoped. Charity is refusing to take advantage of another's weakness and being willing to forgive somone who has hurt us. Charity is expecting the best of each other." i like that a lot. i need more of that kind of goodness. speaking of goodness elicia has been in rare form today. she made me some tea, offered to iron for karey, and volunteered to make me dinner when she comes home from church. actually her and karey have both been really good to me. it's good to have good friends. i'm not going to church. too abjectly and pathetically sick. descriptors used on me this morning: gross, really sick, and dizgusting. well i think dizgusting is going a bit too far...
